Former U2 stylist set to tell all on Dunphy's show



THE former U2 stylist who has penned a tell-all book on the band's inner secrets will appear on 'The Dunphy Show' next month to promote it.

In a major coup for Dunphy, who has himself penned a book on U2 - 'Unforgettable Fire' - Lola Cashman will discuss her time with the band on the show soon after the book is released.

Ms Cashman has written a 288-page unauthorised memoir, which her publisher claims will "intrigue any of the band's millions of fans".

The former stylist had a good friendship with the band members but it went sour when she was prohibited by U2's lawyers from selling items the band gave her as gifts.

Bono's "desperate insecurity" about his height is among the claims made by Ms Cashman, who was stylist for the band for their Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum tours.

Ms Cashman has also signed a serialisation deal with an Irish newspaper, but her publicist Diana Colbert yesterday would not divulge the name of the newspaper involved.

'Inside the Zoo with U2' is due for launch on October 20 and is described on Blake Publishing's website in a manner which is set to leave fans of the band either incandescent with rage or impatient to get their hands on a copy of her book.

"Lola Cashman is one of the few people ever to have been allowed into the inner sanctum of the U2 entourage.

"Hired by Bono to completely overhaul the band's image, she gained a fascinating insight into the biggest band in the world.

"The tales she has to tell will intrigue any of the band's millions of fans - tales of Bono's desperate insecurity about his height, tales of punch-ups with major Hollywood music stars, and of course tales of the music and madness of life on the road with the band," the publisher says.

Ms Colbert denies the stylist wrote the book for revenge.

"That doesn't really come into the book. That's more of a management issue," Ms Colbert responded.
